Production AreaPfalz, Germany The Pfalz is Germany’s sunniest wine region. It runs along the Haardt Mountains, an extension of the Vosges mountain range, which originates in Alsace (France). The long, sunny, dry growing season allows for optimal phenolic ripening, producing full-bodied, attractive Rieslings. Highly-varied soils composed of sandstone, limestone, clay, granite, slate, and marl support the development of complex flavors. Rieslings from the Pfalz are fruit-driven, complex, and fuller-bodied with balanced acidity resulting in extremely elegant, flavorful wines.
