One of the pending issues, long ago in the Rías Baixas Denomination of Origin, was that wines were not made to store, most were (and still are) young wines. Little by little, the trend is changing and more and better Albariños are being produced in barrels.

This is a great wine to keep, for special occasions. From the Salnés Valley subzone. It is fermented in barrels for 3 months, with aging on its own lees. It has 13 degrees of alcohol.

Hand selected grapes fermented in new French oak barrels of medium toast, which age for a period of three months, repeating twice each day during this period the batonage of French technique After barrel fermentation and batonage, the wine spends and additional seven months in stainless inert tanks prior to bottling.

Tasting Notes:

Appearance: Lemon bright yellow color with golden hues that specially favor its final sheen.

Nose: It presents a very powerful and pleasant aromatic intensity, where the fruit aromas of the Albariño grapes intermingle with the new aromas provided by its aging in barrels, such as the sweetness of vanilla, the mild toasted aroma of coffee, or even coconut.

Palate: To the mouth it is ample and dense, with an integrated acidity and a lengthy persistence that turn its aftertaste into a lingering memory. Rich, good structure, long, toasty, fine bitter notes.

Paring: Fish, Pasta, and Rice
