Don Felipe was one of the Botran Merino brothers inspired by glorious Guatemala. Botran No. 12 is a blend for him.
Botran No. 12 Reserva Superior Añejo is a premium aged rum produced by Industrias Licoreras de Guatemala. It is aged for a minimum of 12 years using the Solera System in the mountains of Guatemala and distilled from virgin sugar cane honey. The rum is matured in a combination of three types of casks: American whiskey, Medium toasted American whiskey, and Sherry.
Guatemala is a land rich in biodiversity and varied ecosystems. It also happens to have volcanic enriched soil and an ideal climate for growing sugar cane, the raw material of Botran Premium rums.

Color: Shiny mahogany with golden highlights
Nose: Captivating. Rich notes of vanilla, roasted nuts, tropical fruits, and toasted wood. A bit on the harsh side, the spice-forward nose of this rum comes across as almost peppery, showcasing some astringency. Caramel cream and manuka honey. On secondary takes of the aroma the smoked wood really stands out.
Palate: Soft, easy-going, delicate in mouth. Wood and fruit notes. Dried fruit predominates, including dates, dried mangoes, and apricots, which are combined with almonds, thick oranges, molasses and pannacott.
Finish: Hard-edged finish. Fruity notes and toasted wood.
Pairing: Nicaraguan puro Montecristo 1935 Anniversary.
