Cubanísimo Vineyards in McMinnville is a new exciting wine made in Oregon.
The wine showed a light ruby color. Cherry, raspberry, mossy earth and oak all arrived on the nose. An elegant aroma with cinnamon, dark cherry and light chocolate undertones.
Cherry, raspberry, cranberry, mossy earth, oak and hints of licorice followed on the palate where the licorice dissipated as the wine opened. The wine exhibited good structure and length, along with soft tannins. It ranges in body from very light to the heavier side of the medium, typically landing somewhere in the middle, giving it extensive possibilities for food pairing.
A beautiful medium bodied wine with moderate tannins. The finish is a light, nice lingering chocolate raspberry taste. This wine would pair wonderfully with a seared duck breast or hearty dish of Coq Au Vin.
