Darioush Merlot

Aromatic complexity and typicity is the hallmark of Darioush Signature Merlot. Our meticulous vineyard practices, the unique microclimates, and soils from our Southern Napa Valley vineyards atop Mount Veeder and on the valley floor naturally restrict, concentrate, and carefully ripen this noble Bordeaux variety to coax a plush yet focused wine.

Tasting Notes:

Soft, supple, and concentrated on the palate, 2020 Signature Merlot exhibits tremendous energy and focus. A luscious medley of red and black fruits rises from the glass, while secondary notes of black licorice, tilled earth, and baking spices add intrigue. On the palate, dark Rainier cherry, Mission fig, and plum flavors mingle with spicy pipe tobacco, cacao, and freshly ground espresso beans. Despite the limited yield, 2020 Merlot is a study in complexity and poise— a great example of mountain-grown Merlot.

Blend: 95% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Sauvignon

Aged 22 months in 75% new French oak barrels.
