“What you notice with Cured Oak is the added depth and complexity that comes from the extended curing process. Most of our barrels are cured for six months, but with this release the extended curing brings forward richer notes that create a longer, more layered finish.”

- Harlen Wheatley, Master Distiller at Buffalo Trace Distillery.

E.H. Taylor Cured Oak Bourbon is aged inside oak barrels made with staves cured for 13 months, more than twice as long as typical barrel staves. This extended curing process extracts the rich characters deep within the wood. Barrels were aged inside of Warehouse C, built by Colonel Taylor in 1885 as a prime aging
warehouse. As a special limited-edition release, it is a bourbon of great character, in honor of the man who would accept no less.

Tasting Notes:

A rich aroma of apricots, lemon oil and honey waft right out of the glass. A complex bourbon whiskey with layers of depth.

More stone fruit enters the palate, with the signature Buffalo Trace vanilla, toasty cedar spice, sesame, orange blossom and leather.

Notes of vanilla, toffee and figs are followed by subtle undertones of dry oak.

What sets Cured Oak apart is the wood. Buffalo Trace seasons its standard staves for about six months; these were air-dried for 13.
That longer curing draws more tannin and terpene development out of the oak before the distillate ever enters the barrel, meaning the wood has more to give. The result is a more layered bourbon shaped by the barrel rather than by age alone.

Aged: 10 Year

Bottled in Bond

50% ABV / 100 Proof
