This is an approximately six-year-old rye whiskey bottled at 115 proof.

Tasting Notes:

On the swirl, a lovely viscous film with thick legs, with a beautiful honey amber color.

On the nose, corn and herbal notes mingle with mild oak.

On the palate, this whiskey has an elegant medium thick mouthfeel, with some slight corn sweetness in the background of a wonderfully spicy rye.

The taste reminds to the Buffalo Trace Antique Collection. Really buttery spice cake on the palate, with a very nice lingering finish.

Knob Creek Rye is not new. It is been out for a while, and it is fine. But the single barrel program has been anxiously awaited by whiskey lovers for some time. Many whiskey enthusiasts had visions of a poor man’s Booker’s Rye in their eyes as they waited for the first barrel to be released.

This single barrel selection of Knob Creek Cask Strength Rye Whiskey is a dark amber color with a blend of dill, spice, honey, and charred oak aromas. Bold rye spiciness with undertones of vanilla and oak.
