Famed French winemaker and international wine consultant Michel Rolland has earned a reputation around the world for his ability to find unique vineyard sites that can produce the highest quality grapes. He has done just that in Argentina with this wine. The Mariflor vineyard has come to life based on a vision Michel and his wife, Dany (also an acclaimed winemaker), had when they first laid eyes on the Uco Valley's rocky soil and desert climate set against the Andes peaks.
Mariflor Malbec has complexity, power and sensuality with deep aromas of black fruits and spices that will ensure its longevity, its roundness and generosity make it pleasant to taste early or young. Made of 100% Malbec from vineyards in the Uco Valley, Mendoza Province. The grapes are picked by hand into small boxes followed by double manual selection of bunches. The winery uses gravity and performs malolactic fermentation in French oak barrels then ages the wine 15 months in the same barrels.
Named for the Mariflor, the daughter of Michel, his Argentine estate produces high elevation rich, complex Uco Valley wines. This Malbec is so smooth & balanced with rich black and red fruit flavors accented by licorice, purple flowers and spices. A perfect example of Malbec here, made by one of the world’s most respected winemakers.
Grown at 3600 feet. This comes from estate vineyards on the uppermost secion of the Clos de los Siete vineyard in Vista Flores, Uco Valley, Mendoza.
