From the Alexander Valley, the home of Cabernet Sauvignon in Sonoma County, California. This is medium to full bodied wine with well balanced, bright acidity and a long finish. It is filled with flavors of red and black currants, blackberries, and plums, with a notes of baking spices and sage which blend seamlessly with tannins that linger until the next sip. Fruitiness turns to some cedar and licorice after opening for a few hours.
Aromas of red fruit, leather, and rosemary jump from the glass to be joined by flavors of raspberry and cigar box on the palate and a fresh, firm finish.
Age 19 months in French oak barrels. Pairs with grilled chicken, red sauce, or steak, or on its own. Good now and will hold its own for another 5 years if not more.
