Pago de los Capellanes is a relatively young winery, founded in 1996 when Paco Rodero, the son of Doroteo Rodero, and his wife, Conchita Villa, recovered the family vineyard, expanding the property by acquiring neighboring plots.

Winemaker Notes:

A very intense cherry color with cardinal red rims. Very frank in the nose, with aromas of ripe red fruit and balsamic hints. Smooth in the mouth, filling the palate with exquisite flavors of plum and blackcurrant, plus a long and elegant finish. Well-balanced and with a lively acidity.

Tasting notes:

Elegant nose, well-balanced fruit and oak, with stylish blackberry and mature red fruit aromas, and subtle vanilla, leather, and liquorice notes.

Mature, concentrated, and tasty style with some evident mature fruit, spicy red berry, and bitter cherry flavors on the palate. Soft tannins with a long and elegant aftertaste.

Quite attractive, rich and ripe, dark-berry and plum nose here with a bold, juicy feel and a wealth of sleek, fresh, red and dark berries on the palate.

Aged for 12 months in new and second-year medium-toasted French oak barriques, followed by another 12 months of rest in bottle.

Ribera del Duero 100% Tempranillo

James Suckling Rating: 90 Pts.

15% ABV
