Introducing Tequila Ocho Extra Añejo 2018 El Bajío Vintage Edition. This is a limited vintage tequila and comes with the original hand-made wooden box enclosure. This expression is made with 100% blue agave, harvested only when overripe and distilled at La Alteña Distillery in the Highlands of Jalisco and is gently rested for 3 years in ex-American oak whiskey barrels, creating a slightly darker amber color.
Tequila Ocho is made by Carlos Camarena, a third generation Tequilero, in partnership with Tomas Estes. This dynamic partnership delivers heritage and tradition, coupled with innovation. Carlos and Tomas produce tequila that is made slowly in an artisanal way. The result is a fine quality spirit that accentuates the agave flavor. It is concentrated and complex while remaining balanced and easy to drink.
El Bajío is located in Jesús María Municipality, around 7km east of Jesús María Town at 2,170 to 2,175 meters elevation, with gentle slopes north to south. The name refers to land located in the lower part of a valley.
The agave harvested for this production was planted in 2012 & 2013 when the plants were one year old, therefore the agave was 6 & 7 years old at harvest and had an average weight of 20kgs with 27% sugar content.
