The Yamazaki 12 Years Old 100th Anniversary Japanese Single Malt Whisky

The Yamazaki 12 Years Old Single Malt is comprised of meticulously selected malt whiskies all cask-aged aged for a minimum of 12 years. This special limited-edition bottling was created in honor of Suntory Whisky's centenary. Part of the Yamazaki family, Japan’s quintessential whisky, it is made in Japan’s first and oldest malt distillery which was founded in 1923. Yamazaki means “mountain cape”, referencing its unique geographic location – secluded amongst a range of forest covered mountains. The bottle design pays tribute to Yamazaki, the birthplace of Japanese Whisky, captures this legendary distillery in deep copper tones, and is a reminder to always honor our past.

Delicate and Elegant. Pure gold in color with a nose of persimmon, honey, clove, candied orange, peach, and vanilla, offering spiced wood, coconut, cranberry and butter on the palate. The finish is sweet, woodsy, and long.   Exhibits the characteristics of its religion - smooth, subtle, and pristine. This is a medium-bodied whisky with the aromas of dried fruits and honey.

It has a delicate, mellow taste with a lingering, woody, dry finish. Aged in casks of three different kinds of oaks: American, Spanish, and Japanese. This gives Suntory Whisky its unique quality.

Tasting Notes:

Appearance: Clear dark golden with burnished gold highlights.

Aroma: Cinnamon, red apple, muscovado sugar and jasmine blossom.

Taste: Medium bodied and honeyed in style, this easy vanilla malt bursts with apple fruit and jasmine freshness but is made complex thanks to notes of candied orange peel, cinnamon and clove spice and balancing dusty cigarette ash and cedarwood dryness.

Aftertaste: Woody oxidized pineapple notes linger on the pleasant finish.
